Karolina Pliskova bites the dust- Ashleigh Barty victorious in Miami open
She did it to the surprise of many and in a befitting manner to silence all those who had raised doubts on her potential to win at prestigious tournaments.
She could have reached greater heights, had she stayed focused to her calling but as with all she too was distracted into focusing on things that should have been treated nothing more than a mere hobby.
But like unto all of us, it takes failures and downfalls and time spent in solitude to realize one’s calling. Glad that Ashleigh was able to zero in early.
“I think I was an average cricketer, and I’m becoming a better tennis player,” she said. “It was certainly an enjoyable time in my life. It was a time that I think I found myself a little bit more as a person, and I met an amazing group of girls and a new circle of friends, I suppose. But I think tennis was always my calling.”
The Victory was a significant victory of her career for the year thus far, but it is just getting started. With sure determination and focus there is more to come from Ashleigh. We wish her success in her future outings.
